Expedition Arabia – 12 500 km:s by camel, 2 years
Dear friends,
The main reason for this newsletter is to invite you to this- for me an enormous honor- event below at the historic and prestigious Travellers Club in London: (I have had a lot of requests to be part of this historic event, as I am one of the first Swedes to be honored to lecture there, see what you have to do to become part of this fantastic event below!)
Mikael Strandberg’s expedition along the Kolyma river in Siberia
The British Chapter member and Swedish explorer, Mikael Strandberg will be giving a joint lecture to the British Chapter and the Travellers Club on his expedition along the Kolyma river in Siberia at 6.30 on Monday 19th October 2009 at The Travellers Club, 106 Pall Mall. There is no charge to attend the lecture and a three course dinner (including wine) is available afterwards at a cost of £38 per head. For those wishing to dine, it is important that you let The Travellers Club know in advance. Dress code
For those members who have not visited the Travellers Club before, there is a strict dress code of lounge suit and tie for gentlemen and no denim jeans or trainers.
An explorer learning Arabic
I am still in Yemen, having done three weeks of Arabic studies, and I am experiencing in many ways some of the best times in my life. Yemen is the birth place of Arabia and it is, as far as I can see it, probably the most interesting country to be in at the moment.
